First run...My first big run was to my home town of Wagga Wagga, over 443km each way. The Hume Highway is a duel carriage freeway all the way to the Wagga Wagga turnoff, so all I had to do is wind the power on and enjoy the ride. Running at high revs there was a lot of vibration (as expected for the XS) which caused a few 'bits' to vibrate loose and fall off. Luckily it was nothing significant! The weather was not great with high winds and rain experienced on both legs of the run. At time the combination of high cross winds and wet slippery roads, made it difficult to keep the XS on the road. On one occasion I felt the bike slide sideways and I was on a straight section of road! On the home run, nearing Sydney in the dark, the rain was very heavy. I found by turing my head the wind blew the water off the visor so I could see again. High speed highway runing was great on the XS and it was as solid as a rock with plenty of power! View Larger Map
